CLIMBING HOLDS – SAFETY & INSTALLATION GUIDE

1. IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNING 

Climbing and training activities involve inherent risks, including the risk of serious injury or death. 

These products are intended for personal use only. They must be used responsibly and with appropriate safety precautions. 

 

2. INTENDED USE 

Ignis BOSCO climbing holds are designed for: 

  • Home training boards 

  • Personal fitness use 

They are NOT suitable for

  • Commercial gyms 

  • Public or unsupervised spaces 

  • High-frequency or professional use 

3. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS 

You must ensure: 

  • Holds are fixed into a solid, load-bearing surface (e.g. structural timber) 

  • The surface is stable, secure, and capable of supporting dynamic loads 

  • Appropriate fixings are used for your wall type 

  • Installation is carried out safely and competently 

❗ If you are unsure, consult a qualified professional. 

 

 Important installation notes: 

  • Do not install into weak materials (e.g. plasterboard alone) 

  • Ensure all fixings are tight before use 

  • Re-check tightness after initial use 

 

4. INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE 

You must regularly check all holds for: 

  • Cracks or splits 

  • Movement or loosening 

  • Wear or damage 

  • Changes in surface condition 

❗ Stop use immediately if any issue is found. 

 

Maintenance tips: 

  • Keep holds dry 

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture or damp 

  • Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals 

  • Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth only 

 

5. NATURAL MATERIAL NOTICE 

These holds are made from solid wood. 

Natural characteristics include: 

  • Grain variation 

  • Colour variation 

  • Small cracks or movement over time 

These are normal and not defects, but must still be monitored for safety

 

6. SAFE USE GUIDELINES 

  • Always use appropriate fall protection (e.g. crash mats) 

  • Ensure adequate clear space around the climbing area 

  • Do not exceed your personal ability level 

  • Avoid dynamic or uncontrolled movements unless appropriate for your setup 

 

Children: 

  • Must be supervised at all times 

  • Should only use equipment appropriate for their ability 

 

7. USER RESPONSIBILITY 

You are responsible for: 

  • Correct installation 

  • Ongoing inspection and maintenance 

  • Safe use of the equipment 

  • Ensuring all users understand the risks 

Failure to follow these instructions may increase the risk of injury.
