A Small Fundraiser That Grew Into Something Special
These boards began as a simple idea, a way to help a dog rescue raise funds for a much‑needed new kennel space. I started burning a handful of designs, offering them as chopping boards or hanging pieces, depending on what people wanted. I thought it might bring in a little support, maybe spark a bit of interest.
Instead, they took off.
Each board was burnt, sanded, burned, and finished with care, and every single one found a home almost immediately. Some were hung proudly on walls, some gifted, some placed in kitchens as functional art. A few new owners even admitted they’d never dare chop on them, they loved them too much.
What started as a small fundraiser turned into a wave of kindness and creativity. More pieces followed, each one helping push the rescue closer to the kennel space they desperately needed.
All of those boards are now out in the world, living their new lives and knowing they helped make a difference is something I’ll always carry with me.
